Getting Pregnant After 35 is Harder Than One Might Think

It is understandable why most couples are waiting until later in life to start planning a family. This is mostly due to the need of two incomes in order for a family to live comfortably. So, women are staying in school longer in order to obtain a degree to be able to start a higher paying career and before they know it they are getting pregnant after 35, or at least trying to.

The problems that they do not think about until it is too late apart from the decline in fertility, are the health issues that accompany aging. Some of the more common problems they face are, lowered quantity and quality of eggs, pelvic inflammatory disease, endometriosis, and ovulation disorder.

There are however, things that can be done to improve ones chances of conceiving. The first thing, which will affect your chances of conceiving, will be the stress from not being able to get pregnant as quickly as you want. This stress can and will affect the reproductive system, just it does the rest of the body.

Find a way to manage the stress and keep in mind it can take up to a year, or longer to conceive. If it has been over a year and you are still not successful, you consider seeing a fertility specialist. That is the only way you will be able to rule out any fertility issues.

If it has not been a year yet then, if you have not been doing it, start tracking your ovulation cycle to try to pinpoint the time when you are most fertile. There several different ways to do this but, the most common is by body temperature. Knowing your cycle is even more important if your cycles are irregular.

If you have not started to try and get pregnant, then a good thing to do before you start trying is to get your body weight where it should be. Being over weight or under weight has adverse effects on the reproductive system, and even if you already start trying, getting the weight where it should be will only improve your chances.

Avoid eating unhealthily, fast food and processed foods carry very little nutritional value, and hamper the functions of the body. It is more beneficial for the body, to eat as many natural foods as possible and be sure to eat from all four food groups.

Although it only necessary to be sexually active during your ovulation cycle, you can help your partner with the quality and quantity of sperm by doing it daily. Think of it as supply and demand, as the demand for sperm increases the reproductive system will begin to supply more. Just try to make sure it does not get boring or mundane, as this will only hamper your efforts.

One other problem, women may face after the age of thirty-five, is some loss in natural lubricant. If this is the case and you have been using a store-bought lubricant, you need to make sure it is sperm-friendly. Some lubricant can kill sperm or make it difficult for them to swim, once again hampering your efforts at getting pregnant after 35.

The funny thing is, women that never even give though to getting pregnant after 35, end up getting pregnant by accident but, if you look at them they are in top physical condition for their age. Over 35 and Trying to Get Pregnant Here are Tips That May help

It was not that long ago that a household only needed, one breadwinner to be able to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. But in today's economy most households require two incomes to keep pace with the cost of living increases we see almost daily, and maintain the comfortable lifestyles we grew accustom  as we were growing up.

As a result many are waiting until later in life to begin the process of starting a family. It is common these days to start trying to get pregnant in our late twenties and some wait until their mid thirties, only to discover that conceiving is not as easy as one thinks. There are however, some things you can do to greatly improve your chances.

You can start by being patient, as it may take up to a year if not longer to conceive. If after a year of trying without success, you should consider seeing your doctor if you have not done so already.

Tracking your ovulation is important in determining when you are most fertile, this especially important for women with irregular menstrual cycles. There are many ways of tracking it such as, body temperature, changes in the cervical fluid, and fertility monitors or fertility tests.

Your body weight can play a large part in fertility issues as it affects your hormonal functions, and will interfere with your reproductive organs lowering your fertility. Being under weight can have the same effect as over weight so, get the weight where it should be.

This kind of ties into body weight, eat healthily and eat a well-balanced diet. This means including foods from all four, food groups. In order for your body to function and perform at peak efficiency, this includes the reproductive system, it needs a well balanced nutritional diet.

If you don't smoke, you don't need to worry about this one, if you do, then quit, this means both of you, smoking has an effect on sperm count. If you drink more than three alcohol beverages a day then quit, and again, alcohol has an effect on sperm count as well. If you drink a lot of coffee, yeah you guessed it, quit or start drinking decaffeinated coffee, and yeah you guessed it again, caffeine affects sperm count.

I do not know if you will like this one or not but, having sex every day will do a few things for you starting with improving your chances of conceiving. It will also improve the quality and quantity of your partners' sperm. The thing to do is to make it fun because if it becomes routine and stressful, which it can when concerned about lack of success, it will hamper the ability to conceive.

If you use lubricants during intercourse you should stop unless they are fertility-friendly. Other lubricants can change the ph balance in the vagina making it difficult, or almost impossible for sperm to swim, which will drastically reduce your chances of conception.

What it really comes down too, is, getting as healthy as possible so the body and all its organs can perform at peak efficiency. Doing that will increase your chances of getting pregnant more than you would believe.

3 Things You can do to Improve Your Chances of Getting Pregnant Fast

So you want to get pregnant but, it turns out not to be as easy as you were led to believe. Now you are trying to figure out what the problem is and you are not sure where to begin. Following you will find three things that may occur to you but, tend not give a lot of thought to.

You may have thought of these and even changed some of them slightly but, it will take more than just a slight change to get your reproductive system to it to perform at its peak. This goes for both men and women alike. The three things I am talking about are, lifestyle, dietary habits, and physical condition. Let us look at them one at a time.

  1. Lifestyles – lifestyles come down to your social habits like drinking and smoking. Alcohol and the chemicals like tar and nicotine, from smoking have an adverse effect on your productive systems, and affect both men and women. In order to achieve maximum fertility, you will both have to quit drinking and smoking.
  2. Dietary habits – what you eat and drink has an effect on the reproductive system. Eating fast food and processed food deprives your body of the needed vitamins and supplements your body requires, as they are loaded with fat and empty calories, and have little nutritional value. Try to eat as much natural unprocessed food as possible and maintain a healthy diet. This will supply your body with the nutrients the body it needs, and if you see your doctor they can put you on a diet that will be the most beneficial for you. Try thinking of eating healthily as a natural fertility treatment, in essence it is.
  3. Physical condition – many believe you should take it easy when trying to get pregnant or while pregnant, and this is very bad advice. This is bad advice, because a body out of shape, does not just mean out of shape muscles it means the whole body. Exercising three times a week or more can only benefit you, and not just before pregnancy but also during and after. Even just a little bit over weight can have a bearing on how easy it will be for you to get pregnant, and here again, your doctor can recommend exercise programs that will strengthen your overall body which will help it to function normally.

Of course there are many things that play a role in getting pregnant fast but, if you start with these three things you will be on your way to improving your chance of conceiving. If you and your partner are healthy and you have fairly regular menstrual cycles then, by simply adjusting your lifestyle, dietary habits, and physical condition, may be all that is need to get things rolling.
